Rules

The rules outlined below are modifications to the standard rules of soccer for the purpose of improving the continuity and fairness of the games in our youngest divisions. Outside of these modifications, all other normal soccer rules apply.

No slide tackling allowed at any division

Division 7

• No Parents on the Fields (without the referee’s permission). This is not a modification, but rather being pointed out for the sake of keeping parents off the field where they do not belong during the game.
• No Coaches on the fields (without the referee’s permission). This is not a modification, but rather being pointed out for the sake of keeping coaches off the field where they do not belong during the game.
• No Offside for 7 division.
• Parent Volunteer Referee (Supervisor) for 7 division.
• Both team can substitute at any stoppage of play.
• We use goalkeepers for this Division.
• Other than above, the normal rules of soccer will apply.
• Modification to these rules can be applied at referee’s discretion (such as: given a second chance for a wrong throwing). Please check with the referee before the game and ask to what extend will he/she would modify some of these rules.

Division 6

• No Parents on the Fields (without the referee’s permission). This is not a modification, but rather being pointed out for the sake of keeping parents off the field where they do not belong during the game.
• No Coaches on the fields (without the referee’s permission). This is not a modification, but rather being pointed out for the sake of keeping coaches off the field where they do not belong during the game.
• No Offside for 6th division (unless it’s clear that the coach is trying to take an advantage of this rule). In this event, the referee should be informed of the intentional offsides in a quiet, respectful manner in regards to future play in the game.
• Paid Teenager Referees for 6th division.
• Both team can substitute at any stoppage of play.
• We use goalkeepers for this Division.

Division 5, 4, 3…

All Normal FIFA and CYSA Soccer Rules Apply for these Divisions with no modifications.
