Can my child play for a particular coach?
We are unable to accommodate requests to play for a specific coach.

When will I find out which team my child is on and when they practice?
Coaches will receive their rosters at the coaches meeting late July.  Your child’s coach will contact you with season details between Aug. 5-19.

What do I need to buy for practices?
Your child will need shin guards, socks to cover them, soccer cleats and a soccer ball applicable for their age.

When do practices start?
Team practices will begin the week of August 19. Practices are one or two days per week and may be held any day, Monday through Friday beginning at 4:00-5:30pm or 5:30-7:00pm. Coaches will select practice day, time and location.

Where are games/practices held?
Our Club uses parks/schools throughout Scripps Ranch. The practices are held in specific locations and will be communicated to you by the coach of your child’s team. These locations can be found on our Fields page of the SRSC website.

When do games begin?
Games begin the first Saturday after Labor Day. Game schedules will be released in late August.

What does the uniform consist of?
The Club provides each player with a uniform consisting of shorts, jersey and socks. The cost of this uniform is included in your recreational registration fee.

What is required to be a coach?
First, we ask that you notify the league of your interest in coaching as soon as possible. Then, attend the coaches meeting in late July.  All requirements for coaching are set by our parent soccer organization; SoCal Soccer League. All Head and Assistant Coaches must go through Risk Management (fingerprinting) that is paid for by the league. If you have already been fingerprinted for our Club, you do not need to do it again.  All head coaches are required to take (3) online courses: concussion training administered by HeadsUp, sudden cardiac arrest training administered by NFHS.Org and safesport training administered by the US Center for Safesport.

What are my responsibilities as a parent?
You are responsible for getting your child to practices, games, and other team functions on time (for games, this often means at least 30 minutes prior to game time), picking up your child promptly afterwards, and support your child and the team with a positive manner. Enjoy the time with your children!

Are there opportunities to play in recreational tournaments at the end of the season?
The Club will run intra-divisional tournaments (if needed) and will be determined each season based on the number of teams per division.

Does the club have an All-Star program?
Yes! There are also All Star teams formed by birth year starting at 8U and participate in 2 local tournaments in December. Potential All Star players are nominated by their coach and are then required to attend a team try-out to make the all-star team.
